About Us

We are a group of men and women, boys and girls, who have formed and constitute a congregation such as those described in the New Testament.

We are simply Christians (Acts 11:26, 26:28, 1 Peter 4:15-16), followers of Christ, and we comprise a church that is "of Christ" (Romans 16:16). We do not wear nor accept any designation not found in the scriptures, and we do not subscribe to any creed written by fallible men. Christ is our only creed, the Bible our only guide.

We are striving to be a church after the pattern found in the New Testament - in how we become Christians and in how we live as Christians; in what we teach; in the work we do as a church; in the way we are organized.

We are trying to speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where the Bible is silent, to do Bible things in Bible ways and to call Bible things by Bible names. We are interested in honoring God, to follow Christ, and in learning, doing, and teaching God's Word.

Below are a few things we want to share with you:

We are a church of Christ patterned after the New Testament example of local churches.  We believe in the authoritative word of God and will provide a Bible answer for everything we do in doctrine and practice. We exalt Jesus Christ and seek to glorify Him, not ourselves (Ephesians 3:21). Therefore, our efforts are directed toward promoting commitment to Christ, not to any man or institution (1 Corinthians 2:5).

Our assemblies are simple.  We pray (1 Timothy 2:1).  We sing without the use of instruments (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16).  We partake of the Lord's Supper using unleavened bread and fruit of the vine each first day of the week (1 Corinthians 11:23-29; Acts 20:7),  And, we teach from God's word.  All preaching and teaching comes from the Bible.  We would be happy to study any of these things with you if you wonder why we worship the way we do

The financial support of this congregation comes from the free-will offerings of its members made on the first day of the week (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 8:1-5; 9:6-7). We do not solicit gifts from those who are not members. Contributions are used for the spiritual growth of this church and for the support of men who are preaching the gospel in other areas. We do not use money collected here for social programs or the support of any human institution. We believe the church can do all of the work God has given it to do: teach the gospel, build up the members, and help needy Christians. All other "good works" are the responsibility of individual Christians (Titus 2:11-14; James 1:27; Galatians 6:9-10).

As a congregation of the Lord’s Church we use book, chapter, and verse in all of our teaching and preaching. We believe we can understand the scriptures by commands, examples, and necessary inference.
